Abstract:Following the process of oxidation roasting, grinding and pelletizing, and chlorination volatilization, laboratory tests and scale-up pilot tests were carried out for recovering valuable metals from pyrite concentrate. Removal rate of arsenic and sulphur in oxidation roasting tests is 82.39% and 99.99%, respectively, and volatilization recovery of gold, silver and copper in chlorination volatilization tests is 96.37%, 85.97% and 70.61%, respectively, under the optimum conditions of laboratory test including oxidation roasting temperature of 700 ℃, roasting time of 1.0 h, dosage of calcium chloride of 7.0%, particle size of 70% -0.038 mm, chlorination volatilization temperature of 1 100 ℃, and chlorination volatilization time of 1.0 h. While during scale-up pilot tests, chlorination volatilization recovery of gold, silver and copper reaches 96.72%, 90.91% and 52.48% respectively.
