| Abstract: |
| Cuprion ammoniacal leach process,one of candidate processes proposed for ocean polymetallic nodules,has always been considering as a prospective metallurgical technology.This process developed on the basis of traditional reduction-roast and ammoniacal leach process has the advantage of the reduction in an aqueous solution at ambient temperature and pressure replacing the pyro-reduction at high temperature.It is made possible by the combination of the unusual properties of the nodules and a process uniquely suited to them.A lot of advantages have been shown such as simple technological flowsheet,less investment,efficient selectivity,flexible product mix,lower energy consumption,cheaper and easily recyclable reagents which are less corrosive and toxic,high recovery of metal values,less environmental pollution,and so on.Therefore,this process has successfully demonstrated the prospect for industrialization in the future owing to its advanced and reliable technology. |
