Abstract:
A feasible clean and efficient solution for improving traditional techniques in magnesium metallurgy is introduced, such as high energy consumption and serious pollution from coal's firing. Based on thermo-chemistry experiments analysis, a type of gas-fired reductive furnace is proposed. Making using of coke gas from coke furnace, which is conventionally released to the ambient environment in traditional route, integrates magnesium making, coking and ferrosilicon metallurgy into an interrelated entity. This solution is being gradually extended, and its validity has been confirmed by the demo plants in Ningxia and Shanxi province.
