Abstract:
      Basing on successful preparation of rapidly solidified Mg81.53Zn18.19Y0.28 ribbon by single roller melt spinning,its solidified structure and microhardness had been studied systemically by XRF,XRD,SAD,SEM and microhardness analysis.The results indicate that on the condition of rapid solidification,the solidification microstructure of the ribbon was amorphous phase + hcp-Mg(Zn,Y) phase,which are dispersed with ultra-fine Mg7Zn3 phase,and the microhardness value of the melt-spinning ribbon is 2.4 times the size of its mother alloy,which is increased tremendously.And it is brittleness.The reasons of the results mentioned above had also been discussed primarily.
