Abstract:
      Pure and Gd3+-doped TiO2 nanoparticle photocatalysts were prepared by sol-gel impregnation process,and characterized by means of X-ray diffraction and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectra.The effects of Gd3+ doping on the photocalytic activity of TiO2 were investigated.The results show that the transformation from anatase to rutile and the grain growth of TiO2 was prevented by doping Gd3+.The absorption intensity in the region of ultraviolet light of Gd3+-doped TiO2 were promoted compared with pure TiO2.The activity of hydrogen generation from water 56% was increased.
