| Abstract: |
| Based on the status of recycling valuable metal from spent lithium ion battery, a method to recover cobalt and copper in lithium ion battery by reducing smelting process is developed, and the feasibility according to thermodynamics principium is researched, experiment validates that this technique is feasible with carbon as reducer. Aluminum in lithium ion battery can also used as reducer to reduce cobalt oxides. After reducing smelt spent lithium ion battery in arc furnace, the recovery ratio of cobalt and copper are 78. 63% and 81.54% respectively. |
