Abstract:
Magnesium was removed from manganese chloride solution with manganese fluoride. The effects of Mn concentration, Mg concentration, MnF2 consumption factor, type and dosage of PAM flocculant, precipitation and flocculation temperature and precipitation time on magnesium removing process such as settling velocity, filtration performance of slag, and removal rate of magnesium were investigated. The results indicate that magnesium could be removed successfully only when Mg concentration is ≤3 g/L, the optimum conditions were that MnF2 consumption factor is 1.1, non-ionic PAM flocculant is adopted and its dosage is 0.01~0.02 g per gram magnesium, precipitation and flocculation temperature is 80 ℃, and the precipitation time is 60 min.
