Abstract:
The effects of the ultrasonic treatment on microstructures, density and mechanical properties of AZ80 magnesium alloys were investigated with OM, SEM and Archimedes principle. The results show that after the ultrasonic treatment at 610 ℃, the grain size and numbers of dendrites are reduced, the density of alloy increases from 1.770 g/cm3 to 1.805 g/cm3, the tensile strength increases from 138 MPa to 170.5 MPa and the elongation increases from 2.5% to 4.0%.
