Abstract:
Reduction of V2O5 in microwave field was achieved with Carbon Heat Reduction process. The characteristics of temperature increase of different reducing agents, such as carbon black, active carbon and graphite carbon, were investigated in microwave field. Thermogravimetric analysis was employed to study the effect of microwave input current on the degree of reduction of samples. The results indicated that carbon black was of good absorbing microwave characteristic and reducing property. When the input current was 16 A and irradiation time was 105 min, the degree of reduction was 0.96. While irradiation was extended to 120 min, nitridation reaction was almost complete, at this case the nitride content of the sample was 16.36%.
