Abstract:
The effects of time-sharing power supply on long period zinc electrowinning were investigated, such as, quality of cathode zinc, current efficiency, DC consumption and electric fee. Current density of zinc electrowinning was controlled on 300 A/m2 at peak period, 600 A/m2 at valley period and 480 A/m2 at normal period respectively. The comparison of experimental results with actual production shows that about 21 million RMB electricity cost will be saved in zinc electrowinning with 120 kt capacity.
