Abstract:
The galvanic corrosion behavior of magnesium alloy AZ31 coupled with aluminum alloy A6N01S-T5 in 3.5% NaCl solution was investigated by the immersion test and weight loss, SEM and XRD. The results showed that the weight losses of two metals increased with the increasing of immersion time, but the average corrosion rates reduced gradually. Magnesium alloy AZ31 was accelerated as anode in galvanic corrosion and the contact surface of aluminum alloy A6N01S-T5 with Mg alloy was protected as cathode. But the other part of aluminum alloy in 3.5% NaCl solution also suffered serious cathodic corrosion.
