| Abstract: |
| A new vertical reduction jar structure was developed, which contains an inner jar and an outer jar, or named a jar set. The heat transfer of the jar set and pellets was simulated by FLUENT software. The results show that the heating rate of the new jar is higher than that of the traditional one. In addition, the vertical jar is put into the practical production for further verification. It is shown that the service life of the reduction jar is extended to at least 5 months, the mechanized charging and discharging for the reduction process is achieved, the heating rate of the pellets is increased, and the reduction cycle is shortened. |
