Abstract:
Solubility of As2O3 in dilute sulfuric acid solution and grain size of As2O3 crystals generated from hydrometallurgy process was investigated, and the factors effecting As precipitation with Na2S were studied. The results show that minimum solubility of As2O3 is reached in dilute sulfuric acid with concentration of 60%, and average grain size of As2O3 crystals is about 25.13 μm. The optimum conditions for As2O3 precipitation with Na2S including S/As=3.75, reaction time of 120 min, ambient temperature, and two step charging of Na2S. A new, safe and environmental friendly hydrometallurgy process is put forward to recover As from refractory As-bearing gold ore.
