Abstract:
      The desulphurization test and kinetics of barium aluminate in red mud lotion were studied. The effects of desulfurater concentration, desulphurization temperature and time, and agitation rate on desulphurization rate were investigated. The results show that the desulphurization rate is mainly influenced by the concentration of desulfurater while the stirring speed has no effect on desulphurization rate when it is above 400 r/min. The desulphurization process can be modeled with the shrinking core model of the first order reaction, and the frequency factor is 0.155 331 and the apparent activation energy is 9.341 76 kJ/mol.
