Abstract:
Metal strontium with purity of 98%~99% was prepared by vacuum silicothermic reduction process. The effects of reduction temperature, holding time, briquetting pressure, ferrosilicon excess coefficient, and reactant particle size on strontium reduction rate were studied. The results show that strontium reduction rate of 57% can be achieved under the following optimum conditions including vacuum degree of 0~100 Pa, ferrosilicon excess coefficient of 30%, briquetting pressure of 30 MPa, reduction temperature of 1 250 ℃, and holding time of 2.5 h. The XRD and XRF analysis shows that the phases of residue are 2SrO?SiO2 and SrO?SiO2 mixture, and the 2SrO?SiO2 accounts for the majority.
