Abstract:
      Cd0.5Zn0.5S and Mg2 doped (0.4%, mole percent) 0.4%Mg/Cd0.5Zn0.5S solid solution photocatalysts were prepared hydrothermally and characterized by XRD, UV-Vis absorption spectroscope and electrochemistry. Their photo activities were evaluated by production of hydrogen from water under visible light (λ≥420 nm) irradiation. The results show that Mg2 doping improves the separation efficiency of photo-generated electrons and holes in Cd0.5Zn0.5S solid solution, and the visible light photo-catalytic activity of 0.4%Mg/Cd0.5Zn0.5S solid solution was markedly enhanced.
