Abstract:
Experiments were carried out to investigate the reducibility of Fe3O4-graphite mixed pellets at a moderate temperature. The temperature was designed as 950~1 100 ℃ and the duration was shorter than 35 min. The kinetics parameters of pellets were calculated by means of the new kinetics equation (PKV equation). The results show that strengthening with the increase of time and temperature, the reduction degree of pellets rises more rapidly at a lower temperature in the beginning and temperature has great effect on pellet reduction. The activation energy of the mixed pellets is 102.046 kJ/mol and 86.872 kJ/mol respectively prior to and after 19 min. The controlling unit presents the carbon gasification reaction prior to 19 min and the reduction of Fe3O4 by CO after 19 min.
