Abstract:
Sponge indium was prepared from indium-bearing zinc oxide dust with the processes of neutral and acidic leaching, extraction and back extraction, and replacement. The effects of the initial acidity and oxidant dosage in the neutral leaching, leaching acidity and time in the acid leaching on the leaching of zinc and indium were investigated. The results show that the indium and zinc leaching rate is 90.60% and 89.28% respectively under the optimum conditions. The sponge indium is obtained from the leaching solution by extraction, back extraction and zinc powder replacement, in which the three countercurrent extraction rate is 99.80%, the three countercurrent back extraction rate is 99.90%, and the replacement rate is 99.50%.
