Abstract:
The water quenching copper slag from oxygen enrichment side blowing smelting process was diluted in laboratory through alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) ore-smelting electric furnace. The results show that copper content in slag is reduced from 0.73% to 0.28% after 60 minutes dilution with bottom-cathode DC. The copper recovery is about 65%, increasing 10 percentage compared with that with AC. A variety of slag temperature between 1 160~1 350 ℃ has no obvious effect on copper recovery. With the dosage of pyrite concentrate of 10% of slag quantity, the copper content in slag will decrease to 0.24%, and the copper recovery is about 70%. The copper content in slag increases slowly with the increase of matte grade.
