Abstract:
The negative effect of cupric ions as oxidant in thiosulphate leaching system on gold cementation from thiosulphate solution with copper powder was investigated. The results show that adding ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid disodium into leaching solution can eliminate the inhibitory effect of cupric ions and improve the cementation rate of gold. The common causes of the negative effect of the oxidants from thiocyanate, thiourea and thiosulphate leaching systems on gold cementation from the corresponding leaching solution are compared. The common characteristics of the methods to eliminate the negative effects are analyzed.
