Abstract:
The converter slag from nickel and cobalt smelting process was vulcanization reduced into high ferrous sulphide ore enriched in cobalt, nickel, and copper. This sulphide ore was selective leached under pressure, and the leaching behavior of iron was investigated. The results show that the leaching rate of iron improves from 3% to 43% with the decrease in leaching rate of copper from 98% to -42%. High ferrous sulphide ore is difficult to be selective leached under pressure due to the higher content of iron in the form of Fe2 in selective leaching solution.
