Abstract:
Iron in nickel and copper slag mostly exists in the form of ferric metasilicate, which is difficult to be reduced and can’t be used as furnace charge directly. Improving content of CaO and reducing content of SiO2 in slag were put forward to create conditions for subsequent iron extraction. Main ingredients phase diagram of JNMC nickel and copper slag was simulation calculated with FactSage software, and the effects of components of slag on physico-chemical properties of smelting slag was investigated by experiments. The results show that the suitable slag type is Fe/SiO2 of 1.5, CaO of 10%~15%, MgO of 9%.
