Abstract:
With the aim to address slow heat dissipation and long period of reduction process existing in titanium sponge production by magnesium thermal reduction process, the effects of heat dissipating quantity on quality of titanium sponge, feeding rate of titanium tetrachloride, and reduction period were investigated with forced heat dissipation method. The results show that forced heat dissipation is effective to reduce temperature of reactor wall, improve quality of titanium sponge, increase feeding rate of titanium tetrachloride and shorten reduction period during medium-term reduction process of titanium sponge.
