Abstract:
High magnesium bearing nickel sulfide concentrate was selectively leached by sulfuric acid. The effects of dosage of sulfuric acid, ratio of liquid to solid (L/S), reaction time and temperature on leaching rate were investigated. The results show that the leaching rate of nickel, copper, and cobalt is 6.61%, 6.67% and 6.84%, respectively, and the MgO content is reduced from 10.80% to 5.57% under the optimum conditions including dosage of sulfuric acid of 150 mL for one kilogram concentrate, L/S of 1∶1, and leaching time of 0.5 h at room temperature. The smelting calorific value of de-magnesium nickel sulfide concentrate is less than 2 017 MJ/t. The concentration of nickel and copper in lixivium is reduced to 5.2 mg/L and 0.6 mg/L respectively after adding of sodium sulfide.
