Abstract:
Nickel and cobalt were extracted from laterite-nickel ores containing high iron and low magnesium by “sulfating roasting-oxidizing roasting-water leaching” process. The effects of sulfuric acid consumption, time and temperature of sulfating roasting and oxidizing roasting, leaching time, ratio of liquid to solid (L/S) were investigated. The results show that the leaching rate of Ni, Co and Fe are 91.00%, 91.51%, and 2.72%, respectively, under the following optimum conditions including particle size of -1 mm, acid-ore ratio of 0.54, sulfating roasting at 300 ℃ for 1 hour, oxidizing roasting at 800 ℃ for 2 hours, water leaching at 70 ℃ for 2 hours with L/S of 3∶1.
