Abstract:
Possible chemical reactions during direct leaching of vanadium from stone coal with calcium fluoride were discussed. The main vanadium-bearing mineral was phlogopite. The thermodynamics was analyzed and the leaching reaction model was established. The results show that the mechanism of calcium fluoride to enhance leaching of vanadium from stone coal is that reacting with aluminum and silicon fluorine generates AlF52- and SiF62- to decrease free energy of phlogopite breakage and facilitate dissolution of vanadium-bearing phlogopite. Phlogopite is broken step by step.
