Abstract:
      This paper explores a new approach to prepare aluminium via electrolysis process of anhydrous aluminium chloride produced from fly ash by chlorination. Its key technology is to prepare anhydrous aluminium chloride from fly ash by chlorination. A new process to prepare anhydrous aluminium chloride from high alumina fly ash by chlorination method was proposed with reference to production process of titanium sponge. The key technology of the proposed process including chlorination of fly ash and refining of anhydrous aluminium chloride is analyzed in detail.
