| Abstract: |
| The hydrogen storage properties of NaAlH4 with Sm2O3 and ordered mesoporous SiO2 as codopants by ball-milling were systematically investigated with Sievert’s technology test. The microstructures and phase transformation of milled samples were characterized by XRD, FESEM and HRTEM. The results show that hydrogen desorption is 3.6% in amount within 4 h for Sm2O3-doped NaAlH4, increases to 4.3% in amount once codoped by ordered mesoporous SiO2. The addition of mesoporous SiO2 enhances dehydrogenation kinetics and cycle stability of NaAlH4. Moreover, the modification mechanism of Sm2O3 and mesoporous SiO2 on dehydrogenation of NaAlH4 is discussed. |
