Abstract:
Gibbs free energy, thermal effect units and adiabatic combustion temperature of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) vanadium were calculated and analyzed. The results show that thermodynamics of SHS vanadium is spontaneous and drastic. Adiabatic combustion temperature is 3 021 K. Thermal effect units is 4 988 J/g. The liquid-solid reaction of V2O5 and aluminum powder occurs at the temperature of about 943 K.
