| Abstract: |
| A new technological process, including oxidation matte smelting, reducing matte smelting and oxidation blowing, was proposed to solve the problem in traditional pyrometallurgy of copper and cobalt associated sulfide ore, improve cobalt recovery rate, and shorten cobalt recovery process. The distribution ratios of cobalt in oxidation matte smelting and reducing matte smelting process were calculated. The results show that in oxidation stage, low operating temperature and low matte grade can improve cobalt distribution ratio between matte and slag significantly, while low operating temperature and high iron bearing cobalt matte is in favor of cobalt recovery in reducing matte smelting stage. The maximum cobalt recovery, though 65% in a typical flash smelting and reduction dilution process, can be improved by a change of operating parameters. |
