Abstract:
Yttria stabilized zirconia ultra-fine powder (YSZ) was produced by roasting zirconia precursor prepared in submerged circulation impinging stream reactor with zirconium oxychloride, yttrium nitrate and ammonium bicarbonate as raw materials and PEG4000 as dispersant. The effects of PEG4000 dosage, stirring velocity, reaction time and roasting time on particle size of YSZ were investigated. The particle size of YSZ was characterized. The results show that the optimum reaction conditions include PEG4000 dosage of 1.4 g for one liter reaction solution, stirring velocity of 1 000 r/min, reaction time of 65 min, roasting temperature of 1 460 ℃ and roasting time of 120 min. YSZ powder prepared under the optimum conditions is of spherical particle with average particle size of 0.5 μm and good dispersity.
