Abstract:
The effects of ratio and concentration of mixed ammonium salts (ammonium chloride and ammonium nitrate), ratio of liquid to solid (L/S), pH, and flow rate on leaching rate of rare earth(RE) from weathered crust elution deposited rare earth ores were investigated by column leaching method. The results show that RE can be leached by mixed ammonium salts with higher RE leaching rate and preferably anti-swelling of clay minerals. Leaching rate of RE is 96.29% and linear expansivity of clay minerals is 2.738% under the optimum conditions including mass ratio of leaching agent of NH4Cl∶NH4NO3 of 8∶2, concentration of leaching agent of 10 g/L, pH value of 4.0, L/S=2∶1, and flow rate of 0.5 mL/min.
