Abstract:
Manganese was selectively extracted from a simulated multi-metal manganese sulfate solution rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium with extractant Versatic10. Manganese extraction ratio and average content of manganese in loaded organic phase reach 85.34% and 13.5 g/L respectively, under the following conditions including volume concentration of extractant of 30%, saponification ratio of 50%, phase ratio of O/A=4∶1, two-stage countercurrent extraction for 10 min at 35 ℃. The manganese stripping ratio is 99.94 % by two-stage countercurrent stripping of manganese from loaded organic phase by 2 mol/L sulfuric acid with O/A=8∶1 at 35 ℃. In stripped solution, the average content of manganese is 107.89 g/L, and the concentrations of calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium are all less than 15 mg/L. By treating the stripped solution with activated carbon adsorption, condensation crystallization and desiccation, manganese sulfate monohydrate, which meets requirement of high purity manganese sulfate for battery, is obtained.
