Abstract:
Pyrolusite was leached in nitric acid system with formic acid as reductant. The effects of dosage of formic acid, concentration of nitric acid, ratio of liquid to solid (L/S), reaction time, and reaction temperature on leaching rate of Mn, Fe, and Al by single-factor experiments and response surface methodology. The results show that the main influence factors on manganese leaching rate in sequence is L/S, concentration of nitric acid, leaching time and reaction temperature when dosage of formic acid is certain. The extraction rates of Mn, Fe, and Al is 91.01%, 43.06% and 21.61%, respectively under the optimum conditions including dosage of formic acid of 3 mL, nitric acid concentration of 0.45 mol/L, L/S of 5.6, leaching temperature of 90 ℃, and leaching time of 2.5 h.
