Abstract:
Fluorine and chlorine were removed from zinc oxide dust by alkaline cleaning with sodium carbonate and mixture of sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide respectively. The results show that fluorine and chlorine removal rates are 31.11% and 29.05% respectively under the optimum conditions including ratio of liquid to solid of 6∶1, washing time of 50 min, temperature of 60 ℃, and dosage of alkaline mixture of 9% with ratio of sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide of 1∶1.
