Abstract:
Pb-Sm alloy anodes with different Sm content were prepared by two step remelting process. The effects of Sm contents on tensile strength, corrosion resistance and anode potential of Pb-Sm anodes were investigated. The results show that tensile strength rises with increases of Sm content. With mass fraction of Sm of 0.5%, tensile strength of alloy reaches 13.9 MPa increased by 21.9% compared with pure lead anode. With Sm content exceeding 1.0%, the improving extent of tensile strength slows down. With mass fraction of Sm of 0.5%, corrosion rate of alloy rises by 0.76% compared with pure lead anode, which has no obvious effect on corrosion property of anode. The anode stable potential reduces with increase of Sm content.
