Abstract:
Cyanide residue was treated by Na2S2O5/Air Process to reduce cyanide. The effects of Na2S2O5 concentration, Cu2 concentration, air blowing rate, initial pH value, and action time on decyanation were studied. The results show that the optimum conditions include Na2S2O5 concentration of 0.2 g/L, Cu2 concentration of 80 mg/L, air blowing rate of 250 mL/min, initial pH value of 10 and reaction time of 2 h. Under the optimum conditions, the concentration of total cyanogen in cyanide residue drops from 91.5 mg/L to 0.2 mg/L, which meets the requirement of integrated wastewater discharge standard of GB8978-1996.
