Abstract:
Water absorbing characteristics of Nd2O3 and neodymium praseodymium oxide, and structure and morphology characterization after stable water absorption were studied. General dynamics process of water absorbing on Nd2O3 and neodymium praseodymium oxide was checked by weighting tests and XRD of stable water absorbing materials. The factors affecting water absorbing rate were analyzed. The results show that water absorbing process of Nd2O3 and neodymium praseodymium oxide accords with unreacted core model, while equations of Lageren pseudo-first order kinetic model and HO pseudo-second order kinetic model can only fit to a certain phase after induction period. Compared with Nd2O3, neodymium praseodymium oxide has smaller porosity with saturation phenomenon after water absorbing.
