Abstract:
Carbon anode for aluminium electrolysis was prepared by hot mould pressing. The results show that the optimum hot mould pressing conditions include pressure of 40 MPa, temperature of 130 ℃, and asphalt content of 15%. Bulk density of raw anode is 1.69 g/cm3 with density difference between upper and lower surface of 0.2 g/cm3. Bulk density and actual density of roasted anode are 1.62 g/cm3 and 2.09 g/cm3 respectively. Specific resistivity of roasted anode is 57 μΩ?m. The indexes of roasted anode meets the requirement of industrial production.
