Abstract:
Manganese oxide ores were synergic reductive leached in sulfuric acid medium with formaldehyde and iron powder as reductant. The effects of reductant dosage, volume fraction of sulfuric acid, reaction time, leaching temperature, ratio of liquid to solid (L/S), and stirring rate on manganese extraction rate, mass concentrations of iron and formic acid in lixivium were studied. Technology parameters were optimized by response surface methodology. The results show that manganese leaching rate is 98.04%, and mass concentrations of iron and formic acid in lixivium is 13.96 mg/mL and 1.40 mg/mL respectively under the optimum conditions including volume fraction of sulfuric acid of 15%, 90% of theoretical amount of formaldehyde, CH2O/Fe mole ratio of 2, reaction time ratio of 2, total leaching time of 2.93 h, leaching temperature of 85 ℃, L/S=6, and stirring rate of 150 r/min.
