Abstract:
Wastewater from ammonium molybdate production was treated by neutralization, filtration, heat exchange, distillation, and ammonia solution recovery. The effect of process parameters on ammonia removal efficiency, mechanism of calcium sulfate scaling, mechanism of scale inhibition and performance of scale inhibitor was investigated. The results show that copper ammonia complex is broken and ammonia is relatively thoroughly removed by adjusting pH value to 12 above. The distillation column operates steadily and water draining meets the standard with ammonia efficiently recovered under the optimum operation parameters of distillation column including temperature of 105 ℃ and steam pressure of 0.3 MPa below. Scale inhibitor is to be added before formation of calcium sulfate scaling for the best. The mechanism of scale inhibition is to prevent high solubility of α-calcium sulfate from transforming into low solubility of dehydrate calcium sulphate, so as to increase concentration threshold of scaling.
