Abstract:
Flow field and electric field two-way coupling model on anode surface was established with gas existing in rare earth electrolytic cell into consideration. Anode lower tilt angle was adjusted to balance electric field distribution based on distribution of electric field under action of anode gas. The results show that electric field was under oblique distribution affected by anode gas. The primary area of voltage drop on anode bottom shifts to crucible side with anode lower angle adjusted to 3°~6°. Electric field distribution is relatively uniform in rare earth electrolytic cell and electrolysis efficiency is effectively improved with anode lower angle of 5°.
