Abstract:
      Thermal and electrical field of 240 kA aluminum reduction cell with high conductive cathode steel bar was calculated by finite element simulating calculation. The effects of high conductive cathode steel bar on aluminum liquid level, cell voltage, and temperature distribution of 240 kA reduction cell were analyzed. The results show that cathode voltage can drop by 107 mV, high conductive cathode steel bar can effectively reduce horizontal current in aluminum liquid.
