Abstract:
Direct reduction iron and bonding component such as tricalcium silicate (C3S) and dicalcium silicate (C2S) were simultaneously produced from nickel slag by controlling reaction temperature and matching. The effects of carbon dosage, reduction temperature, reduction time, calcium oxide addition, and heating model on experiments were investigated. The results show that iron and cementing material (C3S and C2S) can be simultaneously produced by two-stage heating model, i.e., when reduced at 1 000 ℃ for 40 min firstly and then reduced at 1 480 ℃ for 90 min. Iron recovery rate is 72%, and C3S in cementing material is 55%.
