Abstract:
The effects of raw material properties, calcium chloride addition and reaction atmosphere on volatilization rate of gold from cyanide residue were investigated via continuous expanding test by molten chlorination in electric furnace and flue gas washing. The results show that gold content in residual slag is 0.6 g/t, arsenic content is 0.25% below, and contents of Cu, Pb, Zn are all below 0.05% under the optimum conditions including moisture content of raw material of ≤6%, calcium chloride addition of 7%~10%, and oxidizing atmosphere. For industrial application, it is proposed to reduce power consumption and anode consumption by means of dry-type feedstock, heat loss reduction, and self baking anode, and to ensure metals recovery in flue gas with application of multistage scrubbing and demister.
