Abstract:
A test of molten salt chlorination was performed on gold-bearing calcine and effects of volatilization time, melting time, oxygen supply rate, chloride addition and adding mode on gold volatilization rate were investigated. The results show that gold volatilization rate is 97% above under the optimum conditions including CaCl2 addition of 8%, oxygen flowrate of 3 m3/h, melting voltage of ~410 V, melting current of ~40 A, melting temperature of 1 200 ℃, and holding current after melting of ~20 A. A new short route cyanide-free gold extraction process is proposed.
