Abstract:
The effects of concentrations of yeast extract on growth and oxidation activity of mixed bacterium in uranium bioleaching were investigated. The results show that increase of concentration of yeast extract strongly inhibits growth and oxidation activity of mixed bacterium. Yeast extract with concentration of 1 g/L below has little effect on oxidation activity and growth cycle of mixed bacterium. A trace amount of yeast extract can promote cell division of mixed bacteria in uranium leaching and improve Fe2 oxidation rate.
