Abstract:
Alkaline uranium ore was pretreated with hydrochloric acid to remove calcium carbonate. Tank leaching was applied in column Z1, while calcium carbonate of uranium ore was leached under condition of full water in column Z2. The results show that calcium carbonate cumulative leaching rate in column Z2 is 64.8% for only 5.38 days with acid consumption rate of 11.49%. Compared with tank leaching in column Z1, the leaching period in column Z2 is shorten by 80%, L/S drops by 35%, and acid consumption rate drops about 4 percent point. The flush leaching of calcium carbonate is efficient and feasible.
