Abstract:
Calcium in Sc2O3 product was removed by immersion with dilute hydrochloric acid. Effects of dilute hydrochloric acid concentration, immersion time, L/S, immersion temperature, and dosage of CN reagent on calcium removal rate and scandium loss ratio were investigated. The results show that the optimum conditions include dilute hydrochloric acid concentration of 1.2 mol/L, immersion at room temperature for 60 min, L/S=2︰1, and dosage of CN reagent of 4% mass fraction of Sc2O3. Sc2O3 product can meet the requirement of Grade 161040 of GB/T 13219-2010 standard after twice immersion of dilute hydrochloric acid.
