Abstract:
Valuable elements were recovered from vanadium tailings by sulfuric acid leaching and solvent extraction. The results indicate that extraction rate of vanadium and chromium is 98.2% and 84.8% respectively when leached with 80% H2SO4. Vanadium recovery rate is 56.2% after three-stage extraction and stripping with 20% P204 80% sulfonated kerosene as extractant. Chromium loss ratio is 4% below in extraction process. Product of Cr2O3 with grade of 89.6% is obtained by hydrolysis of raffinate. Separation and recovery of vanadium and chromium from vanadium tailings are achieved by this method.
